Worldwide Laboratory Automation Market to Reach US$4.1 Billion by 2015, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, California (PRWEB) January 20, 2012

Follow us on LinkedIn Lab automation has come a long way in drastically reducing the need for time-consuming procedures, earlier performed manually, by replacing them with modern tools and techniques. Laboratory automation systems are extensively finding applications in majority of lab processes. From simple capping and decapping of sample bottles, to high throughput screening of test samples, lab automation offers myriad ways to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Lab automation is also growing to be an important market for automation product manufacturers who see it as an ideal opportunity to strengthen their presence. Biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors are the major markets for lab automation followed by clinical research and CROs (Contract Research Organizations).

Lab automation continues to tread the expansion path driven by ever-increasing demand from the drug discovery and biotechnology sectors. Demand for these instruments is projected to remain upbeat in the near future, as the need for high throughput screening and analysis soars. Liquid handling equipment constitutes the largest segment of the lab automation market and finds wide range of applications in drug discovery research, biopharmaceutical production processes and in research laboratories. Miniaturization is one aspect that is high on the development agenda for majority of instrument manufacturers, as the trend towards usage of denser micro plate formats intensifies. Other technologies such as micro fluidics, micro arrays, and lab-on-a-chip that are still in the nascent stages, promise to be key factors for shaping the lab automation landscape in the future.

With the ever increasing pressure on pharma companies to develop new, effective drugs, time-to-market is of crucial importance, thus brining into spotlight the importance of highly automated laboratories. For the pharmaceutical industry, lab automation has a high influence on the drug discovery processes as it increases the speed and accuracy of tests, leaving ample time for scientists to focus on activities of high importance. With automation of laboratories, new strategies for exploring drugs can be formulated with minimum effort. Automation systems are also increasingly finding application in clinical diagnostics laboratories, which have been encountering challenges in terms of decreasing reimbursement rates, increasing volume of diagnostic tests and a growing shortage of work force.

The research report titled Laboratory Automation: A Global Outlook announced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a collection of statistical anecdotes, market briefs, and concise summaries of research findings. The report offers a rudimentary overview of the industry, highlights latest trends and demand drivers, in addition to providing statistical insights. Regional markets briefly abstracted and covered include US, Europe, Asia, Brazil and Africa. Totally Toronto starts the way it wants to finishstrongly and efficiently.

Totally Toronto is the baby sister to the highly successful Barbados Island Guide website, Totally Barbados. The founder, Brett Callaghan, revolutionized the way Barbados promotes online tourism.

After such success in his native home, and because of his roots in Toronto, Callaghan has set his sights on also promoting the city of Toronto to the world.

As I have lived 12 years of my adult life in Toronto, I wanted to promote my second home and the city to the world, just as I do with my home country Barbados.

“Toronto is our first stop as we move across Canada, creating a detailed and informative Online Guide to promote every city throughout the country of Canada.”

With a team of professional writers, articles are created for all topics that relate to the city of Toronto. You can find information about the city of Toronto, entertainment, restaurants and dining, to real estate, business, Toronto hotels and accommodation, attractions and so much more.

Unlike most websites, Totally Toronto has a ‘no banner’ policy, so the only images viewers see are the colorful splashes made by the photo ad-spots.

Along with photo ad-spots, Totally Toronto clients also receive an interactive profile page. The profile page features their contact information, a brief bio, a Google map, and four photos of their choice.

Totally Toronto also allows for potential customers to connect with the client through the website. All of these features are available in customizable packages.

These packages are well thought out between the Web Account Manager and the client. Totally Toronto prides itself on its flexibility with the main goal being to promote the company in a natural and precise manner.

Together, they find the best pages to advertise on for each company and it builds from there. You can also have the ‘Totally Team’ write a bio or take professional photos for your company.

Additive Workshop, Where Art and Technology Meet To Get Artists Back in their Studios

(PRWEB) December 28, 2011

Most people dont know that many prolific artists spend a majority of their professional careers in the reproductive stage and not in the studio creating new artwork. Building a business as an artist and making a collection profitable often requires scalability; the ability to recreate pieces of art in a number of sizes depending on a customer or collectors need. Historically, these recreations could monopolize an artists time require several months or even a year to recreate a single piece. Additive Workshop is working to rectify that and it appears to be working with growth numbers being announced as high as 40% since their acquisition by Masterpiece Investment Corporation in 2010.

Technology advances in the art world are working to change and get artist back where they belong in their studios, creating art. The artists at Additive Workshop are using cutting edge technology to create exact replicas of artwork as it was originally meant without the inevitable reinterpretation and at any scale.

Additive Workshop uses 3-D computer modeling, triple light scanners and a 7-axis rotating arm to help artists increase their production up to 350%, while still preserving the integrity of their work. This allows artists to focus more time on creating new pieces of art while technology focuses on expanding their reach and growing their business said Mark Ghiglieri CEO of Masterpiece Investments Corporation, a fine art company based in Wilsonville, Oregon who acquired Additive Workshop in 2010.

Additive Workshops technology starts with a triple light scanner that is used to take 3-D computer models of any piece of art. The scan is then transferred to a 3-D photo rapid prototyping system which can build 3-D models with details as small as .0006 of an inch. This means Additive can make any artists whole collection scalable or turn a small piece of art into a 30-foot monument in only a matter of weeks, not the months or years it would have taken them previously.

Other studios are using technology to recreate art; however, Additive is the first to employ actual artists for every aspect of the business. Being artist owned, run and operated gives us a unique ability to work with the technology like an artist would, not an engineer, said Mark Ghiglieri, most artists appreciate that they are working with a team that understands their art and the meaning behind it and they want to keep that intact said Mark Ghiglieri.

Some of Additive Workshops most significant projects have been in collaboration with Michael Curry Design. Those projects include the Spirit Bear that appeared in the Opening Ceremony of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, the 27-foot dragon that sits in the entrance of the Wynn Casino in Macau and on the Transformers used by Universal Studios for press around the movie of the same name.

After 20 years of managing a traditional sculptural workshop we have become very dependent on sculptural models. Our usual method involves creating a very detailed miniature model and in collaboration with Additive Workshops methods were able to achieve reproductions that are absolutely accurate and perfectly crafted. With my corporate clients such as Disney, Universal Studios and other brands this precision and accuracy to the model is very important. So its advantages for my sculptural business is that Im able to spend more time on the creation of the artwork than managing scaling and process issues. We are involved in many different scales and techniques, said Michael Curry, artist and founder of Michael Curry Designs.

Additive Workshop has proven to be very versatile and at the heart of it all lies a world class sculptural sensibility. I am a very exacting artist and I keep returning to Additive Workshops because they share the same values, said Curry.

Additive continues to look forward to new technology with the goal of giving even more time back to artists to allow them to be artists, not machines focused on reproduction.

Additive Workshop bridges the gap between the real world and the virtual world said Mark Ghiglieri, our technology allows us to bring pieces of art into the world in an infinite number of ways and that is why our business is exploding. Everyone from museums to movie studios needs our help to create incredible works of art in a short amount of time, said Mark Ghiglieri.

For more information about Additive Workshop, samples of their work and video of their artists at work, visit http://www.additiveworkshop.com.
